Description

Lake Mutanda Camp also known as Mutanda Eco Community Centre found Lake Mutanda shores is about 6kms from Kisoro town. This camp is budget accommodation for tourists and trackers visiting Mgahinga National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The Camp which is operated and managed by Mgahinga Community Development Organisation in association with a Swedish Organisation MbriMbiri offers eco-friendly accommodation and related tour and guest facilities. The main objective is to boost educational opportunities for the locals, by boosting tourism in the area.

Mutanda Eco Community Centre has four Suite Camp tents, four Cabin bandas, a dormitory and a camping site. The Camp Suite tents are a simple rendition of lodging, with contemporary tenting set on a platform with pillars and roof which protects the camp from bad weather conditions.

A percentage of the revenue collected from the camp goes to the community projects like Education, health and livelihood. The locals also earn by selling food products to the camp for some of the meals prepared.
