Day 04: Murchison Falls NP - Fort Portal - o/n Mountains of The Moon Hotel Fort Portal
In the morning you drive to the Kibale Forest area, leaving the Rift Valley and passing through agricultural countryside and across the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon). Afternoon Chimp tracking - Kibale NP
The Kibale Forest is scientifically one of central Africa’s best-known regions. Of the forest’s 11 primate species, most are well studied and many are accustomed to human observation. Following an early breakfast you walk into the rainforest in search of primates and other animals. Commonly seen species include red-tailed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and both Red Colobus and Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys. As you hike the trails you listen for the distinctive pant-grunts that signal the presence of Chimpanzees. Chimps are abundant here and there is a high likelihood of your finding them. Black-and-white-casqued hornbill, great blue turaco, grey parrot and Narina trogon are a few of the many birds you may see. In the afternoon you explore a forested swamp looking for birds, primates and some of the magnificent butterflies which abound here. Later in the afternoon you return to your accommodations at Mountains of the Moon Hotel. B/L/D

Day 05: Kibale National Park/Queen Elizabeth NP o/n Jacana Safari Lodge
Following a morning walk in the Kibale Forest you drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As one of Uganda’s outstanding treasures, this wildlife sanctuary has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for Humanity. In addition to its famous tree-climbing Lions, Uganda kob, elephant, buffalo, hippo, baboons and chimpanzees, more than 500 species of birds have been listed for the park, making it a prime location for birdwatchers. Species recorded include the shoebill, black bee-eater, 11 types of kingfishers and a variety of falcons and eagles. Your luxurious accommodation, at Jacana Safari Lodge, commands splendid wonderful views!

Day 08: Gorilla Trekking, Bwindi National Park o/n Silverback Lodge Bwindi
.The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a World Heritage Site and the opportunity to see endangered mountain gorillas is the highpoint of your exciting safari. Today after a very early breakfast, you report to the trekking assembly point for pre-trekking briefing. You visit an assigned group of your assigned habituated gorillas. The trek can take between one and six hours, at altitudes in excess in 7,500 feet and over rough terrain. Although the hike may be physically demanding, the anticipation of the experience is invigorating and the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants fascinating. When you encounter gorillas, your fatigue is quickly forgotten. Observing a wild gorilla family in its natural habitat and on its terms is considered by many naturalists to be the most profound wildlife experience in the world. Each strictly regulated 60-minute visit passes all too quickly and you must depart, leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. After a visit with the gorillas and a picnic lunch in the forest each day, you return to camp with unforgettable memories of a rare and wondrous experience. B/L/D

Day 09: 2nd Gorilla Trekking o/n Feza Cottages.
On this day you go gorilla trekking a different habituated group, to spend another 1 hour with the gentle giants of Bwindi. Return to the Lodge for lunch and afterwards depart to Lake Bunyonyi for a relaxing evening. Depending on time of arrival, you take a boat ride on this magical Lake in the Switzerland of Africa.

Day 10: Lake Bunyonyi/Lake Mburo o/n Mihingo Lodge.
After breakfast, set off for Lake Mburo National Park. At 260 km˛, Lake Mburo National Park is small in comparison with many other East African parks, but with its mosaic of habitats - dry hillsides, rocky outcrops, bushy thickets, open and wooded savannas, forest, lakes and swamps - are home to a surprising diversity of plants and animals. Have an early morning game drive, and get to see animals like gigantic eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. The five lakes within the park attracts hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while fringing swamps hide secretive papyrus specialists such as the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek. Lunch at the Lodge and later an afternoon game drive.
