Rwanda Wildlife Safari - 6 Days Wildlife Safari in Rwanda
Day 1: Arrival
You will arrive at Kanombe International Airport; you will meet the guide who will transfer you to the Hotel where you will have dinner and overnight. Overnight at Akagera Game Lodge BB
Day 2: Game viewing Safari (Akagera Park)
Before breakfast, you will have an early morning game drive and have a chance to see animals like Butchell's Zebra, lions, elephants, topi etc and over 525 species of birds including the shoe billed stock, African jacana, sacred ibis, goliath heron etc. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat ride lake Ihema before driving to Kigali. On arrival, refresh and have dinner. Overnight at East African Villas.
Day 3: Drive to Nyungwe Forest
Early morning after breakfast you will drive to Nyungwe National park. You will have lunch in Butare or get to your place of accommodation in time for lunch. Optional stops at the King’s palace and the national museum. Check in at Gisakura Guest House. You may have chance to see the colubus monkeys and birds including the Ruwenzori turaco outside the guest house. Dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House.
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking safari
Early breakfast at around 4:00 am, you will enter Nyungwe forest and search for Chimpanzee. You will have a chance to see some of these close relatives to man, witness the social and feeding behaviours and then return to the lodge for lunch after the treks. Afternoon, drive to Kibuye. Dinner and overnight at Moriah hotel.
Day 5: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Breakfast at 7am then start the drive to Musanze following the 5 hours drive along the thrilling Congo-Nile Trail which goes through a maintained marum road taking you via the remotest villages of Rwanda OR take a six hour drive on a tarmac road through Kigali to Musanze. Overnight at Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge.
Day 6: Gorilla Tracking (Safari Volcanoes NP)
Wake up early at 5:30am for breakfast then drive to the park headquarters for briefings, grouping and prepare for an encounter with the gorillas. En route you will be able to see the pyrethrum plantations and on arrival at the edge of the forest, the lead tracker will pick you up and proceed inside the jungles to see the rare mountain gorillas. You will take a hike up through the bamboo forest to spend a magical hour in the company of the gorillas. After trekking, return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch drive to Kigali. Dinner and Overnight at East African Villas.
Day 7: Kigali City tour
Following breakfast, you will have a city tour. Visit the city and curio markets, and then have lunch. In the afternoon, you will transfer to the airport and catch your flight back home.
