DAY 1 - ENTEBBE
Meet and greet with your Uganda safari guide who transfers you to your accommodations at the Lake Victoria Hotel.

DAY 2 - ENTEBBE / MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
In the morning you drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi and Biso. From Biso the road drops down the escarpment into Africa’s Great Rift Valley offering spectacular views of Lake Albert on the valley floor. In the afternoon you arrive at Nile Safari Camp on the banks of the Victoria Nile. Each tented accommodation of this luxurious camp overlooks the river and has en suite shower and toilet and an elevated deck on which to relax. The bar and restaurant also overlook the river and provide beautiful views of the setting sun. A pool is also available. Your dinner and overnight accommodations for the next three days are at the Nile Safari Camp. B/L/D

DAY 3 - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Following breakfast you take a launch trip on the Victoria Nile to the base of Murchison Falls, viewing wildlife and birds en route. Nile crocodile are abundant as are hippo and aquatic birds. This excursion offers a good chance of seeing shoebills, a unique bird found only in a few restricted areas of Africa. At midday you drive to the top of the falls for lunch and to obtain excellent views of the Nile plunging through a 20-foot wide gap in the rocks before dropping an impressive 145 feet over the escarpment. B/L/D

DAY 4 - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
In the morning you ferry across the Nile and depart on a game drive in the northern sector of the park. This is where part of the movie “The African Queen” was filmed. Game viewing is exciting and some of the animals you may see include elephant, oribi, giraffe, waterbuck, hartebeest, buffalo, sitatunga, bushbuck, warthog, bush pig, lion, leopard, mongoose, hyena, jackal and bat-eared fox. B/L/D

DAY 5 - MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK / KIBALE FOREST
In the morning you drive to the Kibale Forest area, leaving the Rift Valley and passing through agricultural countryside and across the foothills of the Rwenzori Mountains (Mountains of the Moon). In the afternoon you arrive at Ndali Lodge, on a high saddle between two crater lakes. The breathtaking views and mild climate at Ndali are just two of its best features. The rooms are decorated with local crafts and materials and feature high ceilings and four-poster beds with mosquito netting. The en suite baths have hot and cold running water and flush toilets. The lodge has no electricity but candles and oil lamps provide a romantic feel of "old Africa". Your meals and overnight accommodations are at Ndali Lodge. B/L/D

DAY 6 - KIBALE FOREST
The Kibale Forest is scientifically one of central Africa’s best-known regions. Of the forest’s 11 primate species, most are well studied and many are accustomed to human observation. Following an early breakfast you walk into the rainforest in search of primates and other animals. Commonly seen species include red-tailed monkey, grey-cheeked mangabey, and both Red Colobus and Black-and-white Colobus Monkeys. As you hike the trails you listen for the distinctive pant-grunts that signal the presence of Chimpanzees. Chimps are abundant here and there is a high likelihood of your finding them. Black-and-white-casqued hornbill, great blue turaco, grey parrot and Narina trogon are a few of the many birds you may see. In the afternoon you explore a forested swamp looking for birds, primates and some of the magnificent butterflies which abound here. Later in the afternoon you return to your accommodations at Ndali Lodge. B/L/D

DAY 7 - KIBALE FOREST / QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Following a morning walk in the Kibale Forest you drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park. As one of Uganda’s outstanding treasures, this wildlife sanctuary has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve for Humanity. The park’s 2000 sq km encompasses a remarkable variety of habitats including semi-deciduous tropical forests, acacia bush-land, open savannah, lakes, rivers and swamps. In addition to its famous tree-climbing Lions, Uganda kob, elephant, buffalo, hippo, baboons and chimpanzees, more than 500 species of birds have been listed for the park, making it a prime location for birdwatchers. Species recorded include the shoebill, black bee-eater, 11 types of kingfishers and a variety of falcons and eagles. Your luxurious accommodation, at Mweya Lodge, commands a wonderful view over Lake Edward. B/L/D

DAY 8 – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
During the day you explore this magnificent wildlife sanctuary with game drives and a launch trip on the Kasinga Channel. This freshwater system, joining Lakes Edward and George, boasts the highest concentration of Nile Hippos in the world. In addition to these giant semi-aquatic mammals, the boat ride affords unique opportunities to view other mammals and birds as they come to the water’s edge to drink or bathe. Birding is excellent, and you can expect to see species ranging in size from the tiny Malachite Kingfisher to the giant Goliath Heron. Your meals and overnight accommodations are again at Mweya Lodge. B/L/D

DAY 9 - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
The Maramagambo Forest is one of the largest tracts of medium altitude, moist, semi-deciduous forests in Uganda. In addition to its vibrant blue crater lakes, this unique forest provides habitat for a variety of wildlife including L’Hoest’s, vervet and red-tailed monkeys, chimpanzees, bush babies, olive baboons, Common and Red Duiker plus numerous species of birds. Once in the forest you walk a trail to a nearby bat cave, well known for its large colony of Egyptian Fruit Bats. As you near the cave you should be on the look out for the birds of prey, Nile Monitor Lizards and African Rock Pythons that come to feed on the bats. In the afternoon you drive to the Ishasha River Valley, one of Africa’s most spectacular areas, with open park-like wooded grasslands. Your accommodations are at an exclusive tented camp in this remote, southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Famous for tree climbing lions and its large herds of African buffalo, elephant, Uganda ob, topi and other antelope, this region provides an ideal location for wildlife viewing. Each tent in camp has an en suite bathroom with hot water “bush” showers and eco friendly toilet facilities. B/L/D

DAY 10 - QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK / BWINDI NATIONAL PARK
After breakfast you begin an extended game drive through the Ishasha area of Queen Elizabeth National Park, leaving the park in the afternoon to drive through a hilly region of neatly cultivated fields. Your accommodations for the next three nights are at Gorilla Forest Camp, on the edge of the Bwindi Forest, where each cottage has its own en suite flush toilet and warm water shower. B/L/D

DAYS 11 & 12 – BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK

The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a World Heritage Site and the opportunity to see endangered mountain gorillas is the highpoint of your exciting safari. During the next two days you visit different groups of habituated gorillas. The trek can take between one and six hours, at altitudes in excess in 7,500 feet and over rough terrain. Although the hike may be physically demanding, the anticipation of the experience is invigorating and the beauty of the forest and its inhabitants fascinating. When you encounter gorillas, your fatigue is quickly forgotten. Observing a wild gorilla family in its natural habitat and on its terms is considered by many naturalists to be the most profound wildlife experience in the world. Each strictly regulated 60-minute visit passes all too quickly and you must depart, leaving the gorillas to their fragile existence. After a visit with the gorillas and a picnic lunch in the forest each day, you return to camp with unforgettable memories of a rare and wondrous experience. B/L/D

DAY 13 - BWINDI NATIONAL PARK / GORILLA NEST LODGE
Following breakfast you cross the international border into Rwanda and drive to your accommodations for the next three days at Gorilla Nest Lodge. This newly opened lodge has comfortable, nicely appointed rooms with modern bathrooms and hot water. It has a spacious restaurant with a large bar and reception area and friendly service. On a clear day the views of volcanoes and surrounding hills are spectacular. B/L/D

DAYS 14 & 15 - PARC NATIONAL DES VOLCANS
Following an early breakfast you drive to the Parc National des Volcans ( Volcanos National Park). Located in the northwest corner of Rwanda, this magnificent mountain sanctuary is one of the last refuges of the mountain gorilla. Here the volcanic massif ranges in altitude from 8,500 to 11,000 feet above sea level. Its densely forested slopes are dominated by Hagenia trees with twisted trunks and lichen covered low branches. Following your arrival at the park headquarters you are given a briefing by one of the park rangers before starting out in search of gorillas. During the next two days you visit different groups of habituated gorillas. You may opt to visit a local market before returning to your accommodations at Gorilla Nest Lodge. B/L/D

DAY 16 - GORILLA NEST LODGE / KIGALI
In the morning you drive to the capital city of Kigali and join your guide for a city tour and optional visit to the 1994 genocide site. Following lunch you transfer to the Kigali Airport and check in for your international flight
